ABUJA — Ask the technicians at Zeetin's service centre what separates a tricycle that runs for years from one that lives in the workshop, and the answer is rarely a big repair. It is five small habits.

1. Check oil and coolant every morning

The KARYA's engine is water-cooled. Before the first trip, check the oil on the dipstick and the coolant level in the reservoir. In Nigerian heat and traffic, running low on either is the fastest way to destroy an engine. Top up only with the grades listed in the owner's manual.

2. Respect the payload

The rated limits — 449 kg on the 150 RLn, 700 kg on the 200 Ln — are tested figures, not targets. Overloading punishes the leaf springs, brakes and drive train, and voids the warranty. Operators who regularly carry heavy loads are better served by the 200 Ln's larger bed and 10 kW engine.

3. Keep to the free-service schedule

The Warranty Card lists free scheduled services at the Idu service centre or an authorised dealer. Each visit changes oil and filter, checks brakes, cables, chain and tyre pressures, and catches small problems before they become expensive ones. A missed service is the most common reason a warranty claim is declined.

4. Fit only genuine VIAR parts

Brake shoes, clutch plates, cables, CDI units and bearings are made to the KARYA's exact tolerances. Copies may look identical but wear faster and can damage the parts around them. Genuine parts are stocked at the plant and listed on the spare-parts page.

5. Wash it — and look while you wash

A weekly wash doubles as a weekly inspection. A loose bolt, a cracked lamp, a frayed cable or a tyre wearing on one edge is easy to spot on a clean machine, and cheap to fix the same day.
